After attending the School of Visual Arts, Michael Schreiber worked for Wells Rich Greene and wrote ads for Heineken and Hertz (but to reduce drinking and driving, never at the same time.) Michael was wooed to the world of healthcare and Medicus, where he promoted P&G’s oral care line to healthcare professionals and patients.
At Grey Healthcare, Michael was Creative Director for Advair – one the most successful Rx launches in history – and a host of other pharmaceuticals. Next stop Cline Davis and Mann, where he directed both the consumer and professional creative for Viagra, Lipitor and Zithromax.
In 2005 he became founding partner and Creative Director of AgencyRx where he oversees all creative product including the award winning “This is Breast Cancer” series and the recently launch viral sensation, stopagencyrx.com.
The CLIO Healthcare Awards may not rank with the discovery of penicillin but for the healthcare advertising community it is a historic moment. Finally, the world’s toughest awards honor the world’s toughest creative category. It is no easy task to color within FDA, FTC, regulatory and legal lines and yet still manage to be brilliant and creative.
There will be no ads for tattoo parlors or dog walking services in this show. This is a celebration of less glamorous products but certainly more important ones. Sometimes we work on drugs that only our mothers have heard of. How appropriate that the one award show our mothers have heard of has decided to honor them.
