Patricia’s background extends over 18 years in healthcare advertising. After six years as a critical care ICU/CCU nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Patricia decided to utilize her dual degrees in nursing and literature and write about healthcare instead of experiencing it every day on the front lines. Since starting as a junior copywriter at Sudler & Hennessey, Patricia has worked extensively in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic/device and consumer healthcare arena—launching and sustaining brands in almost every category, with an emphasis in cardiovascular, pain, neurology, personal care, and women’s health. A move to San Francisco landed her a position as creative director at one of the largest West Coast healthcare agencies.
A decade ago, Patricia formed Stratagem Healthcare Communications along with two partners. As Principal/Creative Director at Stratagem, Patricia oversees the agency’s award-winning creative work, with a focus on brand strategy. Active in the healthcare marketing community, Patricia has participated in healthcare and marketing roundtables on both coasts, and has authored a number of published articles in the areas of branding and copywriting. She has served on the board of the Global Awards.
For 50 years, this award has been committed to excellence in creativity and coveted by many. Now, it's truly exciting to have CLIO embrace pure creativity in the healthcare arena by introducing the CLIO Healthcare Awards. Because there are definite limitations in healthcare, the challenge becomes that much greater— to find the most compelling, creative and differentiating solution within the boundaries. It is an honor to have CLIO dedicate an award to those that meet this challenge. CLIO Healthcare will help motivate agencies to push harder to bring creative solutions to products and brands that impact people’s lives.
